In my mind I sift through lore, beliefs, norms, and values. Tradition?! What an experience! And so, as I stand within tradition, I feel I’m following the humanism of all humankind, entering into the kind of conversation in which essential moments are revealed—moments that help me understand and embrace my own being in the world. Tradition becomes a kind of rehabilitation to me, a freedom of history itself, a freedom of myself.
